    Position Summary

    Reporting to the Clinical Leader, LPN Coordinator is responsible for supporting LPNs with day to day delivery of care including assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation of ongoing care by motivating and enpowering staff. As a member of the care team, and in accordance with Covenant Care's Mission, Vision, and Values, the LPN Coordinator provides direct clinical care to assist/coach staff or fill in/cover vacant shifts when required with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple work demands. The successful incumbent will coordinate staff care assignments and guide all LPN staff and Resident Assistants to ensure safe and effective delivery of resident care plans. This is a leadership role that requires coaching, mentoring and leadership skills and is expected to work to full scope of knowledge. The LPN Coordinator will assist with site clinical committees and related work as required and ensure services are carried out in a manner consistent with the organizations’ person centered service philosophy and Mission, Values and Ethical Guidelines.



    • Completion of a recognized Licensed Practical Nurses program required
    • Currently registered as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required
    • BLS (Level C) Health Care Provider certification required
    • Comfort and knowledge of computers is required (Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel)
    • Effective verbal and written (English) communication and presentation skills required
    • Excellent assessment, planning, organizational and time management skills required
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as working within a team. Positive stress management skills. 
    • Dementia education an asset
