  • Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Maintenance Worker performs specific maintenance, monitoring, testing and adjustments as required to various building, grounds, building environmental systems and equipment, as well as resident care equipment. Exercises good judgement and precedent in determining work methods used in accordance with the care team and in accordance with Covenant Care’s Mission, Vision, and Values, regulations and procedures.


    • Completion of a High School Diploma, along with 5th Class Power Engineering certification or equivalent are required
    • 1-2 years experience in building maintenance required, preferably in a health care setting
    • Journeyman certificate in a related trade is an asset
    • 3-5 years experience in the general trades, mechanical, plumbing and electrical an asset
    • Must possess sound oral and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of regulations and municipal ordinances applicable within a health care setting
    • Must maintain an Alberta Boiler Safety Association 5th Class power engineer’s certification.
    • Able to spend considerable time walking through the facility.
    • Must be able to adapt to different physical environments, working inside, outside and in enclosed or confined areas
